Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy involves microinjections of a customised cocktail of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, hyaluronic acid, and active compounds directly into the middle layer of the skin (the mesoderm). By bypassing the surface barrier, these nutrients reach exactly where they are needed — stimulating collagen production, improving hydration, brightening skin tone, and revitalising dull or ageing skin. It is also used on the scalp to stimulate hair follicles and reduce hair fall.

Mesotherapy uses custom-blended cocktails of vitamins, minerals and small molecules injected in multiple micro-doses across a wide area. Skin boosters (such as Profhilo or Juvederm Hydrate) use stabilised hyaluronic acid in slightly deeper injections to deeply rehydrate the dermis and stimulate collagen and elastin. An initial course of 4–6 sessions spaced 1–2 weeks apart is the standard approach for most skin concerns. Maintenance sessions every 4–8 weeks sustain the results. For scalp mesotherapy targeting hair loss, 6–8 sessions are typically recommended as an initial course. Results are cumulative — each session builds on the last, so completing the full course is important for optimal outcomes.

The injections use very fine needles and cause minimal discomfort — most patients describe it as tiny pinpricks across the treatment area. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied 20–30 minutes before the procedure to further minimise any sensation. The treatment typically takes 30–45 minutes. Mild redness and tiny injection marks are visible immediately after but usually resolve within a few hours.

After a full course, most patients see: improved skin hydration and radiance, reduced dullness, improved skin texture and pore appearance, lightening of mild pigmentation, firmer and more youthful-looking skin. For scalp mesotherapy: reduced hair shedding, improved scalp condition, and in many cases, visible new hair growth. It is commonly combined with chemical peels (peels resurface while mesotherapy rebuilds), laser treatments (mesotherapy post-laser accelerates healing), PRP (particularly for scalp use — PRP and mesotherapy target different pathways of follicle stimulation), and HydraFacial (which cleanses the surface while mesotherapy addresses the deeper dermis). Mesotherapy suits patients with dull, dehydrated skin, early signs of aging, mild pigmentation, stressed or tired-looking skin, and those wanting to maintain skin quality between more intensive treatments. For scalp use, it suits patients with early-stage hair thinning, excessive shedding, or those wanting to complement their PRP programme. Contraindications include pregnancy, active skin infection or herpes in the treatment area, blood-thinning medications, and certain autoimmune conditions — all assessed at consultation.

There is minimal to no downtime. Some patients have mild redness, tiny injection marks, and minor swelling that resolves within a few hours to 24 hours. Foundation or powder can be applied the next day. Avoid intense exercise, heat, and sun exposure for 24 hours after treatment. Most patients return to work and normal activities immediately.
