Restorative Dentistry treatment at House of Aesthetics, DHA Phase 6 Lahore

What Is It?

Rebuild Your Teeth. Restore Your Confidence.

Restorative dentistry focuses on diagnosing and treating problems that damage, decay, or compromise the integrity of your teeth. Whether it is a simple cavity that needs a filling, a cracked tooth requiring a crown, or an infected root canal needing treatment, prompt restorative care prevents small problems from becoming large and expensive ones.

At House of Aesthetics, we take a conservative, tooth-preserving approach to restoration — always choosing the least invasive option that will achieve a long-lasting result. We use modern tooth-coloured composite resins for fillings and high-strength E-max or zirconia ceramics for crowns, ensuring every restoration is both functional and aesthetically indistinguishable from a natural tooth.

Our BDS-certified dental team understands that visiting the dentist can be anxiety-inducing for many patients. We take time to explain every procedure clearly, use adequate local anaesthesia, and create a calm, reassuring environment. Your comfort and trust are as important to us as the clinical outcome.

Your Care Guide

Pre & Post Treatment Care

Before Your Treatment

  • Do not delay seeking dental attention if you are in pain — early treatment is always simpler and less costly
  • Take any prescribed antibiotics as directed before treatment if infection is present
  • Inform your dentist of all medications you are taking — some affect bleeding and healing
  • Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before your appointment — do not come with a very empty stomach if sedation is planned
  • Mention any dental anxiety before your appointment — we can discuss options to make you more comfortable

After Your Treatment

  • Avoid eating on the treated side for at least 2 hours after any filling to allow complete setting
  • Mild sensitivity after fillings and root canal treatment is normal and typically resolves within 1–2 weeks
  • After crown placement, avoid very sticky foods (toffee, caramel) for the first 24 hours while cement fully sets
  • After root canal treatment: take all prescribed medications as directed; a temporary crown is placed first, with the permanent crown fitted at a separate appointment
  • Maintain excellent oral hygiene around new restorations — careful brushing and flossing prevents re-infection or decay at margins
  • Report any looseness, cracking sounds, bite changes, or prolonged sensitivity to your dentist promptly

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Restorative dentistry encompasses all procedures that repair, rebuild, or replace damaged or missing teeth to restore full function and aesthetics. At House of Aesthetics, our restorative services include composite and amalgam fillings, porcelain and metal-ceramic crowns, root canal treatment, dental bridges, and full mouth rehabilitation for patients with extensive dental damage or wear.

A filling is appropriate when tooth decay or damage affects less than approximately one-third of the tooth's surface. When damage is more extensive — affecting a large portion of the tooth structure, after root canal treatment, or where a tooth is cracked — a crown (cap) is needed to protect and restore the tooth's full strength and shape. Your dentist will take an X-ray and clinically assess the damage to recommend the most appropriate restoration.

Root canal treatment has an undeserved reputation for being painful. Modern root canal therapy, performed under adequate local anaesthesia, is typically no more uncomfortable than having a filling. The tooth is numbed completely before treatment begins. Any pre-existing toothache from infection is usually the source of pain — the root canal treatment actually relieves this pain by removing the infected tissue. Post-procedure soreness for 2–3 days is managed with over-the-counter pain relief.

Porcelain and metal-ceramic crowns typically last 10–15 years with good oral hygiene and care. All-ceramic (E-max or zirconia) crowns can last 15–20 years. Longevity depends on the patient's bite forces, oral hygiene, and whether they grind their teeth. Patients who grind heavily are advised to wear a nightguard to protect crowns from premature wear.

Modern composite (tooth-coloured) resin fillings typically last 5–10 years in posterior teeth (back teeth, where bite forces are greatest) and 7–10+ years in anterior teeth (front teeth). Regular dental check-ups allow early detection of any deterioration. Replacing a failing filling before it fails completely is always more cost-effective than waiting for the tooth to crack or decay further.

Full mouth rehabilitation (also called full mouth reconstruction) is a comprehensive treatment plan for patients with extensive dental damage — from severe erosion, multiple decayed teeth, failed old restorations, or significant bite problems. It combines multiple restorative and cosmetic procedures performed in a planned sequence to restore complete oral health, function, and aesthetics. It is designed for patients whose dental needs go beyond what a single restoration can address.

Dental restorations are cared for exactly like natural teeth — brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, floss daily, and attend 6-monthly dental check-ups. Avoid biting on very hard objects (ice, bones, bottle caps) which can crack crowns and fillings. If you grind your teeth, wear a nightguard to protect restorations. Report any change in bite, sensitivity, or cracking sounds to your dentist promptly.

Do not wait on a toothache — it rarely resolves on its own and usually indicates a problem that will worsen over time. Seek dental attention if you experience pain that lasts more than a day or two, pain that wakes you at night, sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers more than a few seconds, swelling around a tooth or gum, or a visible chip, crack, or cavity. Early treatment is always simpler, less invasive, and less expensive than treating an advanced problem.

Our Standard of Care

Every Procedure. Every Time. A Qualified Doctor.

In Pakistan, many aesthetic and dental clinics use unqualified technicians for procedures that legally and ethically require a doctor. At House of Aesthetics, that is not how we operate — and never will be.

🩺

MBBS & BDS Qualified Only

Every aesthetic and dental procedure is performed by a doctor holding a recognised medical degree — MBBS for skin and aesthetic treatments, BDS for all dental work. No exceptions.

📋

PMC Registered

All our doctors are registered with the Pakistan Medical Commission. You can verify their credentials. We are a regulated practice, not a beauty salon with a medical name.

🔬

Doctor-Assessed, Doctor-Treated

Your treatment plan is designed by the doctor who examines you — not a sales consultant, not a coordinator. The same qualified professional who assesses you performs your treatment.

Our clinical team holds qualifications from University of Health Sciences Lahore, King Edward Medical University, and Cardiff University (UK) — with 17+ combined years of clinical experience.
